DUPLICATE / REPLACEMENT DIPLOMAS

Requesting a Diploma

In accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, only the individual earning the diploma can request it.

Send the following information to The Office of the Registrar:

1. The name under which you attended Shorter. Replacement diplomas can only be ordered in the name under which you attended the University.
2. Your social security number.
3. The month and year of your graduation.
4. The degree you earned.
5. The address you would like the diploma sent.
6. Your signature.
7. A $50.00 replacement/duplicate diploma fee in check or money order made payable to Shorter University.

Diploma Replacement Policy

Any graduate who requests a replacement diploma will automatically receive a diploma with the Shorter University name. However, upon request, the university can also provide a Shorter College diploma to those graduates who attended the university while it bore the Shorter College name (ie: until May 31, 2010).

Additionally, any student who graduated from Shorter while it bore the “college” status may request a diploma with the Shorter University name.

Requesting a Duplicate Diploma for Employment Purposes

Please be advised that unless your prospective employer is asking specifically for a copy of your diploma, a transcript is a more legal and expedient document to serve as proof of your course work/graduation.

However, if an original copy of your diploma is mandatory, you should follow the instructions above for "Requesting a Diploma."
