Getting Started in Your Psychology or Sociology Internship

An internship is required for both the B.S. and B.A. in Psychology and the B.S. and B.A. in Sociology. You will enroll in internship just as you would any other class. The course designation is PSY 4050 or SOC 4050; each is a 3 credit hour course. You may choose to participate in a second 3-credit-hour internship (this is not required) which is designated as PSY 4060 or SOC 4060. Find out more about psychology and sociology internships>

Meet the Faculty

Lynne Mooseburg

Lynne M. Moosberg
Instructor of Psychology and Sociology

She earned a B.A. in English from Furman University and a M.S.S.W. from the University of Louisville (1977) with a specialization in Mental Health.

Prior to coming ot Shorter full-time, Ms. Moosberg worked in a variety of clinical settings for over 20 years (inpatient, outpatient, private practice) with a variety of clients (children, adolescents and adults) and taught as an adjunct faculty member here at Shorter as well as at Berry College. Her teaching responsibilities have included introductions to psychology, sociology, and social work, lifespan development, history and systems of psychology, personality theories, cognitive and physiological psychology.

 
Dr. Jill Borchert

Jill Borchert, Ph.D.
Chair of the Psychology/Sociology Department

She earned her B.S. in Anthropology from Central Washington University and a M.S. in Counseling Psychology from Western Washington University.  Dr. Borchert received her Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of California, Riverside with a specialization in social-personality psychology. 

Her teaching responsibilities include courses in research design and analysis, introductory statistics, personality theories, and tests and measures.  Dr. Borchert has co-authored work on body image, helping attributions, and small group behavior in Sex Roles and The Journal of Psychology.
