Mr. Daniel Ng has been a staff accompanist at Shorter University since 2011. Recently, he was an accompanist for Shorter University’s 2011 production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute as well as an assistant coach for the 2012 Opera Scenes production. Originally from Georgetown, Kentucky, he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance with a focus in Collaborative Arts from Georgetown College. While at Georgetown College he starred as Giuseppe Palmieri in the production of Gondoliers, as Mr. Bluff in the Impresario, and numerous scenes from the Opera Workshop program. He also was the music director, vocal coach and performance accompanist for Georgetown College’s production of Cimarosa’s Il Matrimonio Segreto.
During the summer of 2008 he was the main accompanist for the Kentucky Institute for International Studies (KIIS) music program in Salzburg, Austria. He also attended the University of Kentucky for three years, during which time he worked under the direction of Dr. Jefferson Johnson as the primary accompanist for the UK Men’s Choir for three years as well as the UK Choristers for two years. He also participated in the UK Opera program, participating in the productions of Madame Butterfly, The Magic Flute and Carmen. As a church accompanist he started in 1998 at Cane Run Baptist Church in Lexington, Kentucky, then at White Sulfur Baptist Church in Georgetown, Kentucky in 2010. He is now the staff accompanist for First Baptist Church of Lindale, Georgia. |
