November 30, 2011 - The artwork of Shorter University student Karen Marigrace Smith will be on exhibit today until Dec. 2 inside the university’s Arnold Art Gallery. Titled, “a kid with hope,” Marigrace’s art exhibition utilizes photography to express simplicity and hope. “Truth and honesty: people believe these things are long gone. My work is a challenge to the viewer to find these values again,” Marigrace said. “The “good old days” may be gone but gone are also the days of the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl and the bombing of Pearl Harbor. My grandparents life’s were full of challenges which is not a bad thing, I believe that this made our lives richer as a result.” This exhibition is free and open to the public. Viewing hours are from 9 a.m to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
