June 9, 2011 - Shorter University recently donated 13 laptops to Rome’s Youth for Christ organization. According to its Web site, YFC has as its mission to reach young people everywhere, working together with the local church and other likeminded partners to raise up lifelong followers of Jesus who lead by their godliness in lifestyle, devotion to the Word of God and prayer, passion for sharing the love of Christ and commitment to social involvement. Travis Hill, who serves as the executive director for the Youth for Christ program, was happy to receive the laptops. He explained that the laptops would be used in conjunction with Youth for Christ’s annual Camp Discovery. “We have a competition at the end of the camp and we will be able to give these laptops away as prizes. We are very excited about that and thankful for the donation.” Last year, Shorter donated 20 laptops to Youth for Christ and the Open Door Children’s Home and an additional 20 desktop units to Pepperell Middle School.
