Theatre Department to present "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," April 12-17

April 4, 2011 - Shorter University’s award-winning theatre department will present “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown,” April 12-17 in Shorter’s Callaway Theatre.

"You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," tells the story of an average day in the life of the famous comic strip child hero, Charlie Brown. The audience is introduced to the whole Peanuts gang: Linus, Sally, Shroeder, Lucy and Snoopy. Lucy, who takes great pleasure in tormenting Charlie Brown, is infatuated with Schroeder, but Schroeder only has eyes for Beethoven. Linus loves his blanket, Snoopy loves food, and Charlie Brown is in love with a mysterious little redheaded girl.  "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" explores the big fears, nagging doubts, and little triumphs of life with song, dance, and the unique wisdom of Charles M. Schulz and his Peanuts.

Twelve Shorter University students have been cast in this upcoming play. They include Levi Penley, Wednesday Harrell, Troy Stephens, Koby Parker, Sophia Decker, Sarah Beth Moseley and Sarah Brackett. Understudies include Preston Woods, Patrick Dyer, Jake Shadrix, Kate Johnson, Emily Robinson and Kristina Kennedy.
