Shorter University's fall musical opens Nov. 11
November 11, 2010 -
Shorter University’s fall musical, Curtains, will run Nov. 11-14 and Nov. 18-21 in the university’s Callaway Theatre. Shows begin at 7:30 p.m., Thursday-Saturday and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday.
This musical who-done-it is written by Rupert Holmes with the music and lyrics by Kander and Ebb. Based on the original book and concept by Peter Stone , the musical is a send-up of backstage murder mystery plots, set in 1959 Boston, Mass., and follows the fallout when a star is murdered during her opening night curtain call. It is up to a police detective, who moonlights as a musical theater fan, to save the show, solve the case, and maybe even find love before the show reopens, without getting killed himself.
Tickets are $15 for general admission and $10 for students and seniors. To order tickets, call the Shorter University box office at 706-233-7288 or boxoffice@shorter.edu.
