Shorter College issues statement concerning stolen laptops
May 19, 2010 – The College Park Police Department released yesterday (May 18) surveillance camera footage of an unidentified male breaking into Shorter College’s Riverdale campus and leaving with 48 laptop computers.
Shorter College officials issued this statement today concerning the burglary:
“The stolen laptops contained no personal or private information concerning Shorter College students, faculty or staff,” said Dawn Tolbert, vice president for Public Relations. “These laptops were available to students for use during classes to aid with research and assignments. While we are disappointed that the laptops were stolen, we want to assure Shorter students, employees and the general public that the laptops did not contain sensitive information, and there is no threat of dissemination of personal or private information.”
The stolen laptops were valued at $25,348.63.
