Miss Shorter College to be crowned Thursday night

 

January 12, 2010 - The 2010 Miss Shorter College Scholarship Pageant will be held this Thursday (Jan. 14) at 7 p.m. in the DeSoto Theatre in Historic Downtown Rome. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. General admission to the pageant is $3 and is free with a Shorter College student I.D.

Eleven contestants will vie for the title of 2010 Miss Shorter College. Contestants compete for a first-place scholarship of $2,000. The Miss Shorter Pageant is a preliminary to the Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant. Currently, Shorter College senior vocal performance major Jenica Reed, of Panama City, Fla., wears the crown.

This year’s contestants are: Dominique Woods, a sophomore sport management major from Gainesville; Myra Compton, a sophomore chemistry and biology major from Summerville; Brandi Greenwald, a sophomore sport management major from Kingston; Carol Poss, a freshman early childhood major from Bethlehem; Allison Barnett, a sophomore chemistry major from Dalton; Hannah Freeman, a sophomore music education major from Sandersville; Samantha Taylor, a freshman psychology major from Blackshear; Lisa Belk, a freshman music education major from Kennesaw; Jennifer Folsom, a senior Spanish major from Gainesville; Grace Nelson, a senior music major from Sandy Springs; and Kaitlin Pauley, a junior business administration major from Summerville.
