Shorter College senior to exhibit “A Trip to Australia” in Arnold Gallery

November 4 - An exhibit of artwork by Shorter College senior Matt Clark titled “A Trip to Australia” will be on display Nov. 16 through Nov. 24 in Shorter College’s Arnold Art Gallery.

A public reception honoring Clark is scheduled for Nov. 18 from 4 until 6 p.m. in Shorter’s Arnold Gallery, which is located inside the Minor Fine Arts Building.

“The images that I create in my work are not always defined by a particular place,” Clark said of his work. “I prefer to create recognizable images, such as a tree, a field, a beach or a mountain range. These are the things that most of us have experienced in our lives at one time or another. Although my paintings are based on real places, the final product is often very different and the creative process is definitely at work.”

The Arnold Gallery is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. during the exhibition.
