Janie Jones welcomed as gift officer in Shorter College’s Office of Institutional Advancement
September 17 - Janie Jones has been welcomed to the staff of Shorter College as gift officer in the college’s Office of Institutional Advancement.
In her new position, Jones will be responsible for meeting with alumni and donors to encourage financial support for Shorter College. “We are very excited to add Janie to the advancement team,” said Ken Fincher, vice president of Institutional Advancement.
“She is a seasoned gift officer who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Shorter. She is a blessing to the school and community, and we are very happy to count her among the many fine employees of Shorter College.”
Jones, wife of Shorter Hawks head football coach Phil Jones, has worked for the past 16 years with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry. She most recently served as area representative for the FCA for Bartow and Polk counties.
“I’m very excited to be at Shorter College,” Jones said. “Phil and I love it here, and we both love being a part of the Shorter family. It was very difficult to leave FCA after 16 wonderful years, but I know that God worked this out and has called me to do His work at Shorter.”
A graduate of Mercer University with a degree in mathematics, Jones and her husband have two children and five grandchildren. |
