Shorter College Alumni Honored
Three Shorter College alumni were honored for their contributions to the college and the local community as the 2008 Distinguished Alumni Award recipients.
Dr. John Head, David Kemp and Cliff Duren were presented awards for their achievements during the Shorter College Homecoming game held Sept. 27.

Head was presented with the Distinguished Service Award. A 1987 graduate of Shorter, he was selected for the award in recognition for his service to the college in leadership, volunteerism, on-campus service, recruiting efforts and financial support.

David Kemp, a 1981 graduate, received the Distinguished Alumni Award. The award is given to those graduates who exhibit outstanding professional achievement, public service, or accomplishment in the arts and sciences.

2001 graduate Cliff Duren was awarded the Distinguished Young Alumni Award. This award is given to those graduates who show promise through their professional achievement, community service, and/or dedication to the college, and who embrace the Shorter College mission.
