Shorter College auction part of homecoming festivities

Want to be the owner of a signed 8x10 photo of sports radio legend Larry Munson? Or how about packing your bags, grabbing up the kids and heading to Disney World?

Whether you’re a sports nut or a travel queen, you can bet on finding a real bargain at the Shorter College Alumni Auction this Saturday.

As part of the college’s 2008 homecoming celebration, a silent auction has been planned at Barron Stadium during the 2:30 p.m. game that pits the Hawks against the Faulkner Eagles.

More than 20 items are up for bid this weekend, including an “I love New York” travel excursion, a mountain getaway in Ellijay, a weekend family stay in Chattanooga and a large selection of sports-related memorabilia.

The auction will be located underneath the bleachers, near the concessions, and winners will be announced between game quarters.

Cash, check or credit card payments will be accepted.

Auction proceeds benefit Shorter Student Scholarships.
