Shorter College’s Linda Lister to Present Faculty Recital

Soprano Linda Lister will present a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 22, in Shorter College’s Brookes Chapel. The recital is open to the public at no charge. She will be accompanied by Patrick Harvey.

Joining Dr. Lister for the recital will be guest artist baritone Daniel Ihasz, a voice faculty member at the State University of New York at Fredonia. Dr. Lister and Mr. Ihasz did their master’s degree together at Eastman School of Music. They were also colleagues at SUNY-Fredonia and performed together with the Buffalo Philharmonic and the Carolina Chamber Chorale.

Dr. Lister is an assistant professor of music at Shorter, coordinator of vocal studies and opera director at Shorter College. She has received her Master of Music degree in voice performance from the Eastman School of Music and her Doctor of Musical Arts degree in voice performance from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She has served on the voice faculties of Elon University, Greensboro College, the State University of New York-College at Fredonia, the Music Academy of North Carolina, the Hochstein School of Music, and the School of Choral Studies at the New York State Summer School of the Arts.

Dr. Lister has performed with the Prague Radio Symphony, the Washington Symphony Orchestra, Piedmont Opera Theatre, Opera Theatre of Rochester, Rochester Oratorio Society, Long Leaf Opera ( Durham, N.C.), Greensboro Oratorio Society, Cambridge Opera ( England), Cambridge Gilbert and Sullivan Society, Maine State Music Theatre, and Clocktower Jazz Ensemble.
