Shorter College Announces Promotion of Facilities Management Leadership Team
Shorter College President Dr. Harold E. Newman today announced the promotion of two members of the college’s facilities management leadership team. Dick Taylor, who had served as director of facilities management, was promoted to assistant vice president of facilities, and Jeff Agan, assistant director of facilities management, was promoted to director of the department. The changes became effective on Monday, July 14.
“The continued development of Shorter College’s physical plant is a key component of our growth for the coming years, and we have recognized an increased need for planning as we seek to manage that growth,” Dr. Newman said. “Dick Taylor’s rich experience with Shorter and his knowledge of our campus and our future goals make him ideally suited to lead our long-range planning efforts. We are equally fortunate to have a talented and knowledgeable individual in Jeff Agan who can step into the day-to-day leadership of the facilities management department.”
|Taylor has served as Shorter’s director of facilities since September 1989. The Rome native will now be responsible for overseeing compliance with EPA and OSHA requirements for the college as well as long-range planning for buildings and grounds. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor are members of Fifth Avenue Baptist Church.
|Agan has been employed by Shorter College since June 1991. His new post includes responsibility for overseeing the operation of the facilities management department. He completed his associate’s degree in business at Shorter and is pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration through the college’s Professional Studies Program. He lives in Rome with his wife, Sherry, and their two children, Kayla and Logan. They are members of Cornerstone Church of Rome.
