Shorter Chorale Presents Spring Concert April 19

The Shorter Chorale will present its spring concert on Saturday, April 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Shorter College’s Brookes Chapel. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and senior adults. Tickets may be reserved by contacting the Shorter College Box Office at (706) 233-7288 or by e-mailing boxoffice@shorter.edu.

Under the direction of Dr. Martha Shaw, this concert will feature choral classics of the Renaissance and other Latin sacred selections as the group prepares for performances in Italy in May 2008. From the grandeur of Gabrieli’s Jubilate Deo to the motet Tu Es Petrus of Palestrina and Ave Maris Stella by Edvard Grieg, audience members will experience the beauty of timeless masterpieces. More recent sacred compositions and hymn arrangements will complete the program.
