Shorter College Theatre Department to Present 'To Kill a Mockingbird' Nov. 13-18 The Shorter College Theatre Department will present its fall play, “To Kill a Mockingbird,” Tuesday through Sunday, Nov. 13-18. Performances begin at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and at 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday in Callaway Theatre on the Shorter College campus. General admission tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for students and senior adults. For tickets, contact the Shorter College box office at (706) 233-7288 or boxoffice@shorter.edu. The play is set in a 1930s small Alabama town, where young Scout Finch learns about racism and how it can divide a community as her father, Atticus, defends a black man accused of raping a white woman. In this revised dramatization of Harper Lee’s Pulitzer Prize winning novel, Jean Louise Finch narrates her memories of growing up amid gentility and vulgarity, wisdom and ignorance, tolerance and hate. Dr. Anna Filippo, chair of the theatre department and assistant professor of theatre at Shorter College, will direct this performance. ###
