Trustees Re-elect Executive Committee Members
At its October meeting, Shorter College’s Board of Trustees elected six representatives who will serve on the board’s Executive Committee during 2007. The board unanimously returned all six Executive Committee members to their posts. Those elected include:
- Dr. Nelson Price of Kennesaw, chairman
- Dr. Kevin Snodgrass of Rome, vice chairman
- Mrs. Joy Battles of Silver Creek, secretary
- and Mr. Roger Willis of Lawrenceville, the Rev. David Harper of Silver Creek, and Mr. Ken Watkins of Lawrenceville, at-large members.
This fall, Shorter College is experiencing record enrollment, with more than 1,040 students enrolled in the college’s traditional programs in Rome and an additional 1,600-plus taking classes through Shorter’s adult-degree programs in Metro Atlanta and Rome. The college has been ranked once again among the South’s best colleges focusing on bachelor’s degrees by U.S. News & World Report, and The Princeton Review ranks Shorter as both a Best Southeastern College and a Best Value in higher education.
