Jared Godsave takes first at SSAC invitation
The Shorter College Hawks cross country teams participated in their first "actual" meet in five years this past Saturday (Sept. 9).
Coming in second place in the men's 8k (five miles) run was Jared Godsave with a time of 27:53.26. Since he was the first attached runner, he scored the lowest score of the race and helped lead the men's team to a second place finish with 50 points, behind Berry with 25.
"I was happy with how I ran today," said Godsave. "I wanted to try and break my [personal record] on the course and I came close, so I am happy with that. I think this was a good tune-up for Regionals."
For the ladies, Julie Murphy was the lowest finisher in the 5k (3.1 miles) with a time of 21:52.36. The women came in third for the day with a total of 95 points. Berry came in first with 25.
