Chinese professor joins Shorter College faculty
Wen-Chen Cheng joins Shorter College’s faculty this fall to teach Chinese language, culture and literature.
Ms. Cheng’s position is coordinated through a program by the ALLEX organization, which connects U.S. colleges and universities with Chinese instructors who teach an Asian language in exchange for completing a graduate or undergraduate degree. Shorter applied for this grant in the fall of 2005, and Ms. Cheng arrived in Georgia on Aug. 4. |

A native of Taiwan, Ms. Cheng holds a degree in computer information science from Aletheia University in Taiwan. She also studied in Canada and attended Ohio State University’s training program for instructors of Chinese.
Ms. Cheng will teach elementary Chinese I and Chinese culture and literature during the fall semester.
