Shorter University offers wonderful opportunities for students to grow intellectually, socially and spiritually. We describe it as standing “At the Crossroads of Faith and Learning.” Students in our traditional programs receive individualized attention from faculty members who are proud to fill the roles of professor, mentor and friend. Our programs for working adults offer an accelerated degree program where students can learn from individuals with both academic and real-world knowledge; many of our students say they are able to put lessons to work in their jobs the very next day. Shorter also offers programs through an online format; these include general education courses, online calculus, and a growing number of degree programs.

Recent years have brought growing recognition for our successes as an educational institution. In 2009, for the ninth consecutive year, U.S. News & World Report ranked Shorter among the South’s top baccalaureate colleges. We are also part of the Princeton Review’s lists as a “Best Southeastern College” and a “Best Value College.” Shorter also has excellent programs in the performing arts, sciences, teacher preparation, business, and more — as well as a vibrant program of intercollegiate athletics that has claimed five national championships in just two years.
