Sophomore Merrilee LaVilla crowned Miss Shorter University

February 22 - Merrilee LaVilla, a sophomore communication arts major at Shorter University, was crowned Miss Shorter University on Feb. 21. LaVilla, a native of Acworth, Ga., was selected for this honor by a panel of three judges. She received a $2,000 scholarship and earned a chance to compete in the Miss Georgia Scholarship Pageant later this year. Read more

Emily Messer has been promoted to Assistant Dean of Student Affairs from her position as Director of Student Life, and Wes Moran has joined the division as Career Development Coordinator. January 3 - Shorter University senior linebacker Demery Hawkins has been named as a member of the 2012 All-NCCAA Football Team. Hawkins, a 6-1, 260-pounder out of Lyons, Ga., adds another honor to his career as a member of the Shorter football team, following up on his 2011 recognition as NAIA All-American. Read more
